Christopher traveled with Caroline from Missouri to Nevada. Along the way they were sidelined by snow and ice storms but the tigers traveled well and were friendly and chuffing the entire trip.

Christopher is a happy tiger. His new keepers at Safe Haven Rescue tell us he is always glad for company and plays with his toys like a big puppy, but he is all tiger.

He is very mellow and enjoys his new surroundings on the high plains.

Christopher Traveling to Nevada

Christopher is a young male white tiger whose Missouri owner could no longer care for him. The owner had two tigers and two lions and they all needed a new home. He called Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka, Arkansas but they were still in the process of building out enclosures for the massive tiger rescue they had carried out earlier in the year—34 tigers!

Turpentine Creek got in touch with us and we called another great tiger sanctuary—Safe Haven Rescue in Imlay, Nevada—who had room for two tigers—but the cats needed a ride. So we called Loving Friends Transport in Clearwater, Florida and they had a break in their heavy schedule of transporting dogs from puppy mills and overcrowded animal shelters to new homes in Florida and said they could give the tigers—and later, the lions—a ride to new forever homes at good sanctuaries, a round trip of 8700 miles.

Scott and Emily from Turpentine Creek drove to Missouri to help load the tigers into the transport cages and on to the Loving Friends rig (heated and outfitted with video to monitor the tigers between stops) and they started on their journey.
