Young Meeka enjoys the pool at The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, CO. Meeka and her mother Tajah were confiscated after being found with chains on their necks in the back yard of a house in Minnesota. The man keeping them had ignored the state’s law banning the ownership of tigers, and so authorities had to confiscate them and seek out a proper home for them. They contacted TWAS and a rescue team immediately went to Minnesota to bring Meeka and Tajah to their new home.
Meeka was 9 months old when she arrived in October of 2009 so now she is 6.
