At its 40th Anniversary Conference late last year in Los Angeles, “Ending Wild Animals as Entertainment,” the Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) honored Tigers in America (TIA) with the esteemed PAWS Advocacy Award.
In presenting the Award during the Conference’s celebration dinner, PAWS’s co-founder, Ed Stewart, noted TIA’s “firm resolve, tenacity of purpose, and steadfast perseverance in building coalitions while advocating for the health, welfare, and protection of captive big cats.” Stewart also stated that “Tigers in America has done more than any other organization to protect tigers in this country and in the rest of the world.”
