Finalist in the 2026 Tigers in America-Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries annual photo and video contest to celebrate International Tiger Day.
“Indy is a female tiger who arrived at The Wildcat Sanctuary in May of 2023.
“In January of 2023, she’d been confiscated by undercover police after her owner had illegally listed her for sale on Facebook Marketplace for $25,000. In his closet, they found a 23-pound tiger cub in a dog kennel and arrested him.
“Our staff made the 3,400-mile roundtrip to pick Indy up, bringing her back to her forever home here at the sanctuary.
“From the moment Indy arrived, she was right at home. Indy has grown into such a strong adult and she’s still filled with such a goofy, playful personality.”
