“Lysander was one of several animals rescued from a zoo in Argentina along with two other tigresses, lions and bears. The zoo was identified as one of the ten worst zoos in the world and was located next to a soccer (futbol) stadium with horrific noise and stress. Concerned citizens and a government agency brought enough pressure to force the zoo to be closed in 2015. The animals finally arrived in Colorado in February 2017. Lysander was released into his large-acre habitat in April. This image now adorns my arm in the form of a tattoo.”
