Like the other tigers rescued from this private breeder, Mystery was severely underweight. Her name comes from the fact that she arrived mysteriously at the breeder when she was about a year old, left in a small cage in the driveway. No one ever knew where she came from. She did have a complete tail when she got there, though.
Another mystery that puzzles everyone is why the females from this location have had their tails docked. There is no obvious humane rationale for doing this to tigers.
