Kya came to live at Popcorn Park Animal Refuge in New Jersey when a Maryland zoo found her glaucoma too distracting for their visitors and wanted her off exhibit. Their zoo vet recommended that she be placed at Popcorn Park to take advantage of their excellent veterinary care and more accommodating environment. Kya has become a visitor favorite and she enjoys her enclosure and pond as if she had sight. She is 9 years old.
