Tiger Medicare

Tiger Bigelow at PAWS sanctuary

The life span of a tiger in a roadside zoo is less than 12 years. In a sanctuary it is 18 and, in some cases, they will live into their 20s. The gift of life provided by sanctuaries comes with the obligation to guarantee a peaceful pain free existence.

As tigers age they require nutritional and, in some cases, medical supplements. Tigers in America helps fund the cost of that care.

These tigers, relocated from roadside zoos, now live at PAWS sanctuary under the extraordinary care of Dr. Jackie Gai and Rene and are beneficiaries of our program.
